Day Dorm

Living in a Maranatha dorm means gaining another family. With over 500 students living in Maranatha’s ten residence halls, there’s no shortage of friends to be made, and dorm life is often an unforgettable aspects of a college career. Lasting friendships are made in the dorms, and group devotions encourage spiritual growth. Maranatha has ten residence halls, each with a unique design and personality.

Maranatha’s five women’s dorms stand on the north side of campus and share plenty of parking lot space. Each room has endless possibilities for decor, and residents enjoy filling their rooms with color and life.

Day Hall, constructed in 2006, is the newest women’s residence hall. Each room has its own sink, mirror, and walk-in closet, and each of Day’s three floors provides laundry facilities, a microwave, and a small computer lab. Fine Arts students often request to live in Day because it has four music practice rooms attached to the first floor study lounge.

Gould Hall has a reputation for emptiness on Sundays and Wednesdays because its residents are involved in various ministries. Every room has its own full-length mirror, and each floor shares communal restroom and shower facilities. The basement has two large rooms used for devotions and study, as well as laundry facilities and a microwave. Gould recently received a dorm-wide lighting upgrade and has laundry facilities in the basement.

Hilsen Hall, completed in 1995, is affectionately called “the Hilton” or “the hotel” by female students, because each room has its own restroom as well as an entry way with considerable storage. Both of Hilsen’s floors are equipped with a mini-kitchen and central study lounge area.

Melford Hall is famous for its intramural prowess, including several victories for its intramural powderpuff football team. Each room comes with a full-length mirror, and each floor shares communal restroom and shower facilities. The basement has two large rooms used for devotions and study, as well as laundry facilities and a microwave. Melford is closer to the main campus than any other women’s dorm.

Weeks Hall is known for the diversity and fun-loving personalities of its residents. Each room provides a full-length mirror, and each floor shares communal restroom and shower facilities. Maranatha’s five men’s dorms form a semicircle on the south side of campus surrounding a large grassy quad. Students enjoy pickup football and soccer games on the quad. A parking lot is situated conveniently behind the men’s dorms, and each dorm has its own vending machines.

Armitage Hall is uniquely located a block off campus, and its residents are older students pursuing senior-level or seminary coursework. Since the residents are older students, the personality of the dorm tends to reflect greater maturity; two common areas provide microwaves, refrigerators, couches, and beanbag chairs. Armitage is a former motorcycle shop that was purchased and renovated in 1995.

Carey Hall is known for hospitality to visitors. Each room has a mirror, and each floor shares communal restroom and shower facilities. Judson Hall stresses unity among its residents. Each room has a mirror, and each floor shares communal restroom and shower facilities. The dorm shares a microwave and pop machine, and the basement features a foosball table as well as couches and chairs for reading and studying.

Leland provides wide, cinderblock hallways that give the dorm a roomier feel and help diminish noise, while featuring indirect lighting.
