About Dr. Crum

Dr. Crum began studying piano at the age of 5 with Joan Love Parker, and then continued with her mother, Harriet Love, until attending college. Throughout high school, he won numerous competitions in piano, piano duet, and piano/organ duet at Tennessee Temple and Bob Jones Universitiy.

In graduate school as a teaching assistant, he realized his love for helping students learn. Meanwhile, he began developing his passion for administrating large events and working in fund raising through an internship with the Huntington Chamber Orchestra.

Dr. Crum taught all levels of music theory, applied piano, secondary piano, and group organ hymnplaying at Pensacola Christian College. Through his position as the Rejoice Telecast organist, he became widely recognized as an organist. Listeners frequently commented that, although they do not care for the organ, they enjoy his playing and appreciate his original and energetic hymn accompanying.

After leaving Pensacola, Dr. Crum became Professor and Chair of Music at Piedmont Baptist College and Graduate School, Winston-Salem, NC. He brought renewed energy to their music programs as he retooled the curriculum and relocated the department to modern facilities. He founded the Music Academy at Piedmont, which began with 20 students and surged to 300 students within two years. Due to this growth, he was promoted to Director of Advancement/Special Assistant to the President.

Dr. Crum is the Director of Online and Distance Learning.
