About Dr. Morales
Dr. Morales has taught at five different universities. His first teaching assignment was at Temple University (1997-2003), followed by Rutgers-Camden (1999-2003), Lander University, S.C. (2003-06), and Bethel University, Ind. (2006-08). He taught at two colleges at the same time. While attending college, his favorite part-time job was as a campus security guard. “I saw skunks and wanted to chase them away, so I started throwing stones at them,” Morales said. “The next morning, the entire campus smelled like skunk.” Dr. Morales and his wife, Pam, have two children, Drew and Ana.
“I grew up in Barcelona, Spain, in a Catholic family. I heard the gospel for the first time when I was 16, and I accepted the Lord as my Savior when I turned 21. For five years I had fought in my heart the call of God for the salvation of my soul. As I went to the University of Barcelona for my classes, I was burdened in my heart about the Lord’s call. I was told about the rapture and the tribulation that would follow. I knew I was a sinner and I would go to hell. With a heaviness on my heart, I asked the Lord to save me. That was the 5th of December of 1977, Monday at 2:15 pm.”
What Dr. Morales loves about teaching at Maranatha
“I would like to see that students use their Spanish knowledge in their lives and ministry whether in the community, church, prison, pulpit, evangelism, businesses, schools, hospitals and that they use it to bring the gospel to others.”
Dr. Morales participates in the ESL program on Wednesday evenings and the Spanish Sunday school at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown.
