Graduating seniors will receive information from the Registrar’s Office about ordering regalia, diplomas, invitations, etc. Here is other information to help those making plans for Commencement 2013:
Lodging: Two local motels, Holiday Inn Express (920-262-1910) and Super 8 (920-261-1188), have each allowed us to reserve a block of 10 rooms for the night of Baccalaureate (May 2). You must call to reserve a room. Ask for a room in the Maranatha block. The rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservation deadline is one month before Baccalaureate (April 2).
Tickets: Each graduating senior will receive 3 to 4 reserved-seat tickets for Friday’s Convocation service, based on the size of the graduating class. We should know by April whether each graduate will receive 3 or 4 tickets. This reserved seating is in chairs on the gymnasium floor. Please be in your reserved seats no later than 10 minutes before the service, as all empty seats will then be open for anyone. No tickets are needed to sit in the bleachers, and no tickets are needed for the Baccalaureate service on Thursday evening. Hint: Many parents arrive early for the Baccalaureate service to find spots suitable for taking pictures or video of their graduates marching. The reserved seating tickets for Convocation can be replaced by contacting Jody Kibler in the Academic Office.
Parking: Each graduating senior will receive one VIP parking pass before 10 a.m. Friday. The VIP parking pass cannot be replaced. Due to limited parking space, we can offer only one pass per graduate.
Special Needs: If a guest will be in a wheelchair or needs a sign language interpreter for one of the ceremonies, please contact Jody Kibler at email@example.com or 920-206-2320 before April 1. Handicapped parking spaces are available near the gymnasium to those with an official handicapped license plate or sign. There is a short flight of steps in the gym lobby, but a side door near the handicapped parking spaces will allow direct access to the main floor.
Nursery: Signs will be posted on campus directing guests to a nursery that will be provided in the Dining Complex for all children age 4 and younger. Children under age 5 will not be admitted to the Baccalaureate or Convocation services.
Cameras: Flash photography and videotaping is allowed only during the processional and recessional at the Baccalaureate and Convocation services and during the presentation of diplomas at the Convocation service. A professional video production of the Commencement exercises will be placed on this page no later than May 10. A DVD copy may also be ordered by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
Graduation Regalia is ordered through our Campus Bookstore. Please visit our Bookstore on the web site for more details.
We look forward to seeing you at Maranatha’s Commencement 2013.
