Youth Ministries

Understanding the youth

Even though many Christians are content to live their lives privately while less advantaged youth and children are abandoned to a harsh and callous culture, those who invest in the lives of young people can make a difference for eternity. If you have a burden for the next generation, Maranatha’s youth ministries program is designed for you.

“My goal is to help the students become lifelong learners of God’s Word.” – David Hockman, Faculty

Ministry to the youth

Eric Hall (’10) was an intern at First Baptist Church of Litchfield, MI, for three months following his college graduation. When that internship was completed, Pastor Brent Stille (’90) hired Hall as youth pastor. “I’ve learned a lot and grown a lot personally,” Hall said. “I’ve really enjoyed it. It has been fun to get to know the teenagers and their families through activities and fellowship.” Hall is working through a book study with a new convert, a young man invited to a youth rally by one of the First Baptist teens. “ This experience has confirmed to me that I would like to work with youth fulltime and long-term,” Hall said.

Our faculty knows ministry

“To be involved in Christian ministry is an utmost privilege, a solemn responsibility, a divine stewardship, and an extreme joy. Our desire is to train individuals who understand and appreciate the opportunity of being vocationally involved in handling the Word of God.”

Our Commitment Statements

Maranatha’s Doctrinal Statement originated in the very first year of Maranatha’s existence. During the summer of 2009, the college Bible faculty and the seminary faculty created an expansion of the doctrinal statement and set forth the following declaration of its commitment to biblical truth and its application of that truth to the lives of its students, staff, and faculty. The purpose of this statement was to make clear to the Board of Trustees the commitment of the Bible faculty to biblical truth and the positions that Maranatha has historically held.
