If you want to learn more about the Bible, but can’t leave your job or ministry and spend the next four years in college, Maranatha Online’s Bible Certificate is an intriguing alternative. The 24-credit hour program can be completed in two years by taking two online courses every eight weeks, starting with Old and New Testament Survey.
“This is a really good program for people who are starting their Bible education later in life,” said Naomi Ledgerwood, Chair of Maranatha’s Online Learning department. “It will have a lot of appeal to pastors, deacons, and Sunday school teachers who just want a deeper level of Bible training. It will also work for students attending secular colleges who would like to take some Bible courses.”
Degree Completion program
If you have started working toward an undergraduate degree, but never finished, you can now obtain a regionally accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies through Maranatha. Students in this program are required to complete two on-campus seminars that last one week each, but the remainder of the courses can be taken online.
“The course of study is similar to a Humanities program, with a broad base of math, science, social science, literature, history, and philosophy,” Ledgerwood said. “It is a good option for people who want to be taught from a biblical worldview while obtaining a regionally accredited degree.”
Applicants must be at least 25 and must have completed at least 60 credit hours from an approved institution of higher learning with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Wisconsin State Teaching License
If you are a prospective teacher who has not yet been awarded a Wisconsin state teaching license, you can now work toward fulfilling those requirements through Maranatha Online. This option is designed for students who have earned a bachelor’s degree in education. The specific requirements will vary based on the work already completed by the student.
You can earn a Master’s Degree in English Bible entirely online in a span of two years, taking one course every eight weeks. You will enjoy courses in Old and New Testament as well as theology and 11 hours of electives.
How about earning college credit while you’re still in high school? Scholarship programs available through Maranatha Online reduce the cost of tuition 50 percent for qualified juniors and seniors. Some states will even help pay for dual-enrollment courses!
