Major at MBBC: Sports Management

Prior to MBBC: Adam set 8 school records at GCHS. He was a 2 time All Sub-State Team, a 2 time First Team All-Conference, 2rd Team Iowa Preps, 3rd Team Iowa Newspaper Association, and was selected to the All-Tournament team in the Iowa All Star Game his senior year. Adam led GCHS to 4 straight District Championships, and a 3rd place finish in the Iowa State High School Tournament of 2010-2011.

Personal:  Adam was born in Guthrie Center, Iowa. His parents are Mark and Karen Courtney, who currently reside in Guthrie Center. Adam’s pastor Barney Bornhoft has been a great spiritual influence in his life. Adam’s older brother Kyle has been his greatest athlete influence. Adam’s favorite athlete is Kyle Korver. Playing in the Iowa All Star Game and being named to the All-Tournament team are his favorite basketball memories. In his spare time Adam enjoys reading books and running. The Courtney family is new to Maranatha, but Adam had 2 brothers attend Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. His favorite verse is 1 Corinthians 9:24.

2012-13 High School Season Stats and Highlights: As a senior for GCHS, Adam averaged 25 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists per contest. Adam also made 72 three-pointers over the season.

2011-12 High School Season Stats and Highlights: Adam averaged 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals a game over his junior season. He also made 64 three-pointers on the year.

2010-11 High School Season Stats and Highlights: As a sophomore for GCHS, Adam averaged 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals per game. He made 52 three-pointers over the season.
