Testimony
I praise the Lord that I was raised in a Christian home and was exposed to the glorious Gospel at an early age. As a 7-year-old, the Lord showed me my sinful condition and my need to call on Him for salvation. I thank Him also that He has been faithful to continue the work He started in my heart as a young girl, strengthening my faith and continually drawing me closer to Himself.
Family
Coach Turner is married to Russ Turner. Russ and Lisa have 4 children.
Background
Coach Turner, a Christian Ministries major and 1991 graduate of NCAA Division II Southwest Baptist University, was a scholarship athlete in cross country and track there. She continues to compete in area road races.
Philosophy
I desire to see runners achieve their potential in racing by training in an appropriate manner while taking the lessons learned in the physical and directly implementing them in their spiritual walk. The only eternal benefit of running cross country in college will be if each runner gains spiritual disciplines and tools that will help him/her to run the race of Life “To the Praise of His Glory!”
