I was reminded this Thanksgiving season of Mrs. Cedarholm leading the choir in "Thanks to God for my Redeemer." When we would sing the verse about thanks for roses by the wayside, thanks for thorns their stems contain, she would act like the thorns were poking her wrists. I never fail to remember that whenever we sing that song. . . many fond, fond memories! --SuzAnne Albright

Which summer ensemble team traveled the summer before the college opened in 1968? Read the history book (when it's published in the spring of 2008 to get your answer).

Mark Love, Steve Allen, Jim Harrison, and Dave Warren made up the only Trumpets of Praise team.

To this day, summer ensembles still travel the country, performing music and ministering in local churches.

From Debbie Jones: "When my spouse was a junior at MBBC, he wanted to have a date for the Junior/Senior banquet, but he had a real dilemma because he was not allowed to date the Academy girl whom he really liked. As a result, his best friend suggested that he ask me to go with him as a friend since we all knew each other from our weekend extension work. Although we had no real interest in each other, he did ask me to go with him and I accepted. Of course, he had to get his girlfriend's permission first. Two weeks before our date, however, he and his girlfriend broke up. To our surprise, we had such a good time together at the banquet that we never stopped dating each other." Read more faculty/staff love stories on the Maranatha website.
