#1 Tigers Defeat Crusaders

Box Score

The Crusaders came back in their third game with a much improved effort against the #1 team in the NCCAAII, losing 82-61.

In their last game against Lakeland, Maranatha struggled finding a consistent rhythm but found encouraging signs in the early goings of the season.

Coach Ring stated, “The score was not indiciative of how we played. They have great length and dominated the boards and there is a reason they are the #1 team. There were also some defensive breakdowns that we can fix.”

Sophomore Matt McGivern (Milwaukee, Wis.) posted nine assists in the game and came away with two steals.

Freshman Caleb Burch (Eau Claire, Wis.) continued his strong play with his third double-digit scoring performance, with 11 points.

Sophomore forward Aaron Oberholtzer (Marinette, Wis.) also chipped in 11 points with five rebounds.

Maranatha plays at Great Lakes Christian at 4:00 p.m. EST. on Friday.
