Brendemuehl, Warren Post Four Wins At NWA Invitational

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The wrestling team put its best foot forward with four wins at the North Wrestling Association Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Josiah Brendemuehl (Mishicot, Wis.) was 2-1 on the day, while Ricky Warren (Ohlman, Ill.) finished with two wins as well.

Brendemuehl defeated Kyle Perea from MSOE by a 12-2 decision in the 174 class in his first match while winning a 6-4 decision against Jake Ruteler (CUW) in his second match.

Brendemuehl lost a 6-5 decsion to David Galarno (Lakeland) in his last match, missing an opportunity in the closing seconds to score a takedown that would have catapulted him into the lead.

Warren’s 3-1 decision against Jason Lafavor (Knox), marked his first win, while losing his second match by fall to Greg Sanders (CUW).

Warren secured his second victory against Alejandro Varela (CUW), with a 5-4 decision.

The Crusaders are back in action on Saturday, February 25 at 9:00 a.m. in Minneapolis for the NCAA DIII Regional Tournament.
