CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Cross Country team finished strong at the 2012 NCCAA Nationals, as the men’s team took second place and the women’s team took fifth in Division II.

Individually, the women’s team had all but one runner set personal records on the final race of the season.

Senior Lauren Stephens (Chicago, Ill.) ended her senior season on a high not with a person best time of 20:39.39, taking seventh place in Division II.

Freshman runner Kimberly Richerson (Elmwood, Ill.) finished in 17th place with a time of 22:07.48 while Becky Wentholdt (Atkinson, Ill.), and Cari Cook (Napoleon, Mich.) finished 28th and 33rd with times of 23:23.99, and 23:48.34 respectively.

On the men’s side, William O’Malley (Rockford, Ill.) finished his senior season with a time of 27:14.20 for second place in Division II.

Sophomore Michael Kluver (Sauk Centre, Minn.) was the second Crusader to cross the finish line in 20th place at a clip of 30:20.85, and junior Jeremy McPhillips (Georgetown, Ill.) finished in 24th place at 31:10.57.

Senior Joshua Pero (Grass Lake, Mich.) set a person best time of 33:48.89, and the men’s team finished with 95 points, behind Arlington Baptist’s 23 points.

The women’s team finished with 118 points behind Manhattan Christian’s 109 points.
