Cross Country Takes On Falcons At CUW Open

Kimberly RichersonMEQUON, WI – Maranatha’s cross country team took to the grass on Saturday, with a season-opening dual against Concordia University Wisconsin and a fifth place individual finish from sophomore Margo Watson (Atlanta, Ga.).

Watson, in her first meet as a Crusader, posted the fifth-best time, 12:41 in the two-mile race, five seconds off the first-place time of 12:36 by Concordia runner, Larissa Schlitz.

Sophomore Kimberly Richerson (Elmwood, IL) ran a 14:56 while sophomore Caitlin Ebert (Mequon, WI) and junior Michelle Kramlich (Milford, DE) crossed the finish line at 16:22 and 16:49 respectively.

On the men’s side, freshman Nathan Turcotte (Watertown, WI) recorded a 13:23 in the two-mile race while sophomore Kris Black (Lake, Mills, WI) notched a 13:54.

The cross country team looks forward to an 11:00 a.m. Invitational at Ripon College this Saturday, September 7.
