Crusaders Bounce Back To Win Against Valley Forge

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Maranatha faced stiff competition in the first half against #7 Valley Forge, but bounced back in the second half to win 80-65 on Thursday night at the NCCAAII National Tournament in Circleville, Ohio.

Maranatha trailed a confident Patriots team 28-26 in the first half before rallying for a 39-34 halftime lead.

The Patriots shot 46% in the first period, but the Crusaders’ halftime adjustments saw them shoot a scorching 59% from the field.

Four Crusaders scored in double digits with junior guard Autumn Peotter (Waupaca, Wis.) leading the way at 19 points on 7-11 field goal shooting.

Junior forward Torey DeLozier (Watertown, Wis.) put together a nice 17 point, 11 rebound, five assists and seven steals, while junior guard Kristin Morrison (Jefferson, Wis.) finished with 18 points

The Crusaders move on to face the winner of Ohio Christian and Trinity Bible College on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. EST in the semi-final match.
