Crusaders Drop 3-1 Decision To Beloit

Box Score

WATERTOWN, Wis. – The women’s soccer team lost to Beloit College 3-1 on a windy and chilly Monday afternoon.

Beloit faced the wind in the first half and didn’t score until 37 minutes into the game, but wasted little in the second half, recording goal two at the 49 minute mark.

Maranatha’s Harmony Lorch (Aurora, Colo.) responded with a goal on a cross pass by Taylor Thompson (Union Grove, Wis.) to cut the deficit to 2-1, but Beloit sealed the game at the 76th minute on a goal by Erin Chambers.

Maranatha missed several of its starters, giving young players increased game time experience, one of which was goalkeeper Michala Marino (Grand Blanc, Mich.), who started the game and recorded seven saves.

Lorch finished the game with the lone shot on goal for the Crusaders while Beloit took 19 shots (10 on goal).

Maranatha faces Edgewood on Thursday, September 19 at 4:00 p.m. in Madison, Wis.
