Crusaders fall to Muskies

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Crusaders failed to reel in the Muskies in an otherwise close 3-1 loss on Tuesday night with scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21.

Maranatha carried a 19-17 lead in the fourth set, only to see it vanish after a Muskie comeback for the 25-21 win. Junior outside hitter Torey DeLozier (Watertown, Wis.) finished with another double-double (19 kills and 15 digs) while contributing two block assists.

Sophomore Laci Peterson (Chillicothe, Ill.) followed up with 14 kills and three block assists, while freshman setter Emily Thompson (Watertown, Wis.) compiled 18 assists. Junior libero Hallie Nelson (Rockford, Ill.) tallied 13 digs on the defensive end.

The Crusaders are now 12-4 (3-3 NAC) and look to avenge their loss with a match at Aurora on Friday October 7 at 8:00 p.m.
