WATERTOWN, Wis. – After scoring the initial goal, Maranatha failed to hold off Concordia-Chicago in a 6-3 defeat on Friday afternoon.
Freshman defender Harmony Lorch (Aurora, Colo.) scored Maranatha’s first goal for a 1-0 lead on an assist by senior midfielder Jocelyn Enrique (Anahoca, Hawaii).
The Cougars pounced on the Crusaders to tie the game and take the lead at the 16 and 22 minute marks, and built a 4-1 lead before Lorch scored her second of the game.
The Crusaders added one last goal at 71 minutes from sophomore forward Taylor Thompson (Bristol, Wis.), and the team dropped to 5-10, and 3-7 in the NAC.
Freshman goaltender Michala Marino (Grand Blanc, Mich.) dropped to 1-6 with four saves in 90 minutes.
The Crusaders move on to face Lincoln Christian on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Lincoln, Ill.
