Crusaders’ Work Pays Off In 4-0 Win

WATERTOWN, Wis. – The Crusaders were due for a win after playing #1 Concordia-Wisconsin tough in a 4-0 loss on Thursday, winning 4-0 against Rockford College on Saturday morning.

Maranatha peppered Regent goalkeeper Mick Goulding with 23 total shots (17 on net).

Freshman forward Tim Rogers (Willmar, Minn.) scored the first goal on a long pass from junior midfielder Dustin Dolan (Watertown, Wis.) at six minutes and freshman midfielder Marvin Klaudt (Los Mochis, Mexico) continued his strong play with a breakaway goal at 18 minutes.

The team added one more goal from junior midfielder Taylor Pill (Watertown, Wis.), who scored off a foul from 25 yards before heading into the halftime break.

The Crusaders maintained possession in the second half and finished the second period with 13 shots.

Junior midfielder Brian Lundquist (Reading, Mass.) finished the scoring with goal four at 81 minutes.

The team limited Rockford to four shots total (two on goal) and junior goalkeeper Kyle Kutz (Cambridge, Wis.) recorded two saves for his first career shutout.

Maranatha faces MSOE on Tuesday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. in Milwaukee, Wis.
