Eagles Drop Crusaders

The Eagles and Crusaders went head to head in a fast paced matchup as Benedictine won 3-0. It was Maranatha’s first Northern Athletics Matchup of the season.

The Eagles scored four minutes into the second half after a scoreless first and then notched its second off a direct kick from the upper 90. The third goal came in the closing minutes of the game.

Freshman Drew DeLozier and Junior Nathan Lyle were noted by Coach Pill for their outstanding effort. Pill stated, “We lost 3-0 against a very strong Benedictine team but we matched their intensity. We had solid performances from freshman midfielder Drew DeLozier (Watertown, Wis.) and senior defender Nathan Lyle (Oregon, Wis.) and keeper Jon Knoedler (North Port, Fla.) made some key saves to keep us in the game. We look forward to our next game against nationally ranked Dominican.”

That match against Dominican will take place Saturday at 2:15 p.m. at home.
