Edgewood Tops Crusaders 3-0

MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood Eagles scored twice in the second half to put the Crusaders out of reach in a 3-0 win on Tuesday evening in Madison, Wis.

The Crusaders played reasonably well against the #5 seed in the conference, posting 13 shots (three on goal), and holding the Eagles to one goal in the first period.

Edgewood responded seven minutes into the second period though and added an insurance goal 10 minutes later at the 63 minute mark.

Sophomore defender Drew DeLozier (Watertown, Wis.) had two shots on goal while freshman midfielder Marvin Klaudt (Los Mochis, Mexico) added one on goal.

Junior goalkeeper Kyle Kutz (Cambridge, Wis.) took the loss in 45 minutes, and his replacement, junior Tyler Holley (Watertown, Wis.) had five saves, allowing two goals.

Maranatha moves on to the NCCAAII Midwest Regional Tournament hosted in Watertown, Wis. on Friday-Saturday, October 26-27.

The team will face Northland International at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, and Moody faces Grace Bible in the first game at 12:30 p.m.
