PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Crusaders and Muskies did all their scoring in a span of six minutes, and freshman midfielder Marvin Klaudt (Los Mochis, Mexico) provided the heroics with two goals in a 2-1 victory on Thursday evening.
Klaudt opened the game with his third goal of the season at the 17 minute mark on a pass from sophomore midfielder Todd Howard (Conklin, N.Y.), but Lakeland responded a minute later after Josh Borts (Greenfield, Wis.) outraced junior goalkeeper Kyle Kutz (Cambridge, Wis.) to even the score.
Klaudt found no sense in waiting, scoring goal four to give Maranatha the 2-1 lead and eventual victory. The midfielder finished with five shots, three of which were on net.
Junior midfielder Brian Lundquist (Reading, Mass.) and freshman forward Tim Rogers (Willmar, Minn.) paced the team with three shots apiece, and the Crusaders outshot the Muskies 16-14.
Kutz recorded the win with four saves in 45 minutes of action, as the Crusaders moved to 6-8 overall and 2-5 in the NAC.
