Lakeland slips by Crusaders

WATERTOWN, Wis. – The score didn’t do justice to the end result as NAC opponent, Lakeland defeated the Crusader soccer team 3-1 in rainy conditions.

Lakeland scored the first goal in spite of being smothered by defender David Anderson (Warren, Mich.) on a backdoor opportunity.

Midfielder Kevin Vigneault (Bow, N.H.) evened the score on a deflected ball in the second period, only to see Lakeland break the lead and hold it.

Sophomore forward Mitchell Holley (Watertown, Wis.) nearly punched in a goal to even the score, but came up short.

The Crusaders play at Concordia-Chicago on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
