Lincoln Survives Crusader’s Late Push

LINCOLN, Ill. — The Maranatha Crusaders lost 70-68, despite putting together a solid second half.

The Crusaders had a shot to tie the game on their last possession, but came away empty, but shot 57% from three-point land and 46%  from the field.

Lincoln went to the free throw line twenty times and shot 80% while the Crusaders hit 69% of their free throws. The teams were nearly even in rebounds, with Lincoln having a 32-31 advantage.

Junior guard Matt Hunter continued to improve from beyond the arc, hitting 5-7 and finishing with 17 points.

Junior forward Joel Borchardt (Watertown, Wis.) finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while sophomore guard Tim Shelp (Independence, Mo.) finished with 10 points off 4-7 shooting.
