Lorch, DeLozier Headline NSCAA, NCCAA All-American Awards

Lorch_DeLozier-All-Americans-webWATERTOWN, WI – Maranatha men’s and women’s soccer team’s saw six recipients, three from each squad, named to the 2013 NSCAA Continental Tire NCCAA DII Women’s Soccer 1st and 2nd All-American Teams.

After stellar seasons by both teams, the women’s squad had junior midfielder Harmony Lorch (Aurora, CO) named to the 1st Team after posting the team’s second most points (18), on seven goals and four assists.

Freshmen midfielder Courtney Dunn and Natascha Vinz (Sheboygan, MI) each made the 2nd Team, as Dunn was also named to the 2013 Women’s Soccer DII All-Tournament Team. Vinz posted a blistering 40 points on 17 goals and six assists while starting every game at the forward position.

On the men’s side, senior Drew DeLozier (Watertown, WI) received 1st Team honors at the defender position, while forwards Wira Wama (Papua New Guinea), and Taylor Pill (Watertown, WI) each landed on the 2nd Team after ranking first, and second respectively on the team, in total points.

In addition to the All-American awards, four Maranatha athletes; Michael Bagin, Taylor Pill, Brian Lundquist and Jackson Miller received Scholar-Athlete recognition.
