Maranatha Sweeps Past Moody

WATERTOWN, Wis.- The Lady Crusaders continued their winning ways en-route to a 3-0 sweep against NCCAA Midwest Region rival Moody Bible Institute; 25-14, 25-14 and 25-16.

Maranatha came out firing in the first set as senior outside hitter Torey DeLozier (Watertown, Wis.) and junior middle hitter Laci Peterson (Chillicothe, Ill.) paced the team with a barrage of kills in a 25-14 win.

Set two followed in similar fashion as sophomore Emily Thompson (Watertown, Wis.) continued to feed the front line in another 25-14 win. Three sets were all the Crusaders needed as Maranatha dominated at the net to close out the match with a 25-16 win.

DeLozier led the team with 23 kills and a .442 kill percentage. Peterson finished the afternoon with 14 kills. Thompson tallied 23 assists, while teammates Samantha Swiatek (Walled Lake, Mich.) and Hallie Sheley (Watertown, Wis.) recorded 14 and 11 digs respectfully.

Maranatha improves to 9-0, and has not lost a set this season.

Next up for the Crusaders is a trip into the Chicago area next weekend to face NAC foes Concordia University-Chicago and Dominican University on Friday and Saturday, September 28 and 29.
