WATERTOWN, Wis. – Three women’s basketball players, point guard Autumn Peotter (Waupaca, Wis.), and center Laci Peterson (Chillicothe, Ill.) were named NCCAAII First Team All-Americans while forward Torey DeLozier (Watertown, Wis.) was named to the Second-Team.
The three starters played a pivotal part in leading the team to the Division II title last weekend, defeating #2 Manhattan Christian, 56-53 in the closing seconds. It was the team’s second National Championship since 1999.
Peotter, the tournament MVP, averaged 15.6 points on 52% shooting from the field, 4.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game during the National Tournament. She was also named the NCCAAII Student-Athlete of the Week.
DeLozier, averaged 10.8 points on 50% field goal shooting and 7.6 rebounds during the 2012-13 regular season, and her free-throws in the closing seconds against Manhattan, sealed the team’s national championship.
Peterson, led the NCCAAII in blocks per game (4.9), nearly a full block over the next opponent. She was also the team’s second-leading scorer (11.1 ppg.).
