WATERTOWN, Wis. – Ripon College had the Crusaders on their heels for a majority of Tuesday afternoon’s matchup in a 5-0 loss.
Ripon’s Alex Jirik scored on one of Brandi Peltier’s two assists for the first goal and found the net again at the 30 minute mark of the game for a 3-0 lead.
Maranatha was missing several starters but managed to hold Ripon to one goal in the second half. Freshman goalkeeper Michala Marino (Grand Blanc, Mich.) received the nod in net and recorded nine saves, while recording her third loss of the season.
Ripon totaled 24 shots (14 on goal) while Maranatha had eight (three on goal).
Maranatha faces Rockford College on Friday, September 28 at 4:00 p.m. in Rockford, Ill.
