WARRENVILLE, IL – Maranatha’s men’s and women’s cross country teams participated in the College of Dupage Invitational on Friday, highlighted by a top-40 finish from sophomore runner Margo Watson (Atlanta, GA) spanning the NCAA Divisions I, II and III, the NJCAA and NAIA.
Overall, there were 167 total female runners, and Watson came in 38th place overall, and eighth in the NCAA Division III by recording a time of 21:11.1. Watson was followed up by sophomore runner Kimberly Richerson (Elmwood, IL), whose time of 23:38.1 vaulted her into 18th place (NCAAIII) and Caitlin Ebert (Mequon, WI) came in 23rd at 25:42.9 (NCAAIII).
The women’s team posted a cumulative time of 2:05:24.1 with an average of 25:04.8 and finished fourth while the men’s squad had four finishers, led by junior Michael Kluver (Sauk Centre, MN), who posted a time of 30:17.4 and newcomer Nathan Turcotte (Watertown, WI), in his first season, posted a 34:28.9.
Sophomore Kris Black (Lake Mills, WI) was the third Crusader to cross the finish line at 37:27.5 and senior Philip Jukkola (Aliquippa, PA) rounded out the men’s team with a 39:52.5.
