“Standing on the Promises” is the theme of Maranatha’s 45th annual Fall Festival on Friday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the Gymnasium. Maranatha’s Combined Choirs, Symphony Orchestra, Heritage Singers, various soloists and readers will lead the audience in considering seven biblical promises: God’s guidance, forgiveness, love, provision, protection, presence, and eternity in Heaven. Among the pieces to be presented are “His Robes for Mine” by the Men’s Chorus, Clausen’s “Set Me As a Seal” by the Ladies Chorus, Dr. Edward Burckart’s arrangement of “Jesus Loves Me” played by violinist, Melody Steinbart, the hymn story behind “Standing on the Promises” presented by readers Rodney King and Laura Harpole, and Jerry Kirk’s “God Shall Wipe Away All Tears” performed by the Combined Choirs and the Symphony Orchestra featuring a new orchestration by Dr. Monty Budahl. The public is encouraged to come. A free will offering will be taken.
