Get a head start on college courses--at a great price!
If you're a high school junior or senior, you may apply for a scholarship of up to 50% for each college course you take online. These courses can be transferred to another college or to Maranatha.
How High School Scholarships Work
- You must submit your application for a high school scholarship by the date indicated on the Schedule page.
- Scholarships are awarded based on your academic status (GPA or ACT scores) and available class openings.
- Once you receive one scholarship for a class, you are pre-approved to use the same scholarship for another course, provided the course has class openings. You will forfeit the scholarship for the next class, if you receive lower than a C- in the previous course and will need to reapply for a scholarship to take another course.
- Scholarships may be applied for any course up until July 15 after you graduate from high school. (The class may finish after July 15, but you need to be enrolled in it and have paid for it by the 15th.)
How to Apply for High School Scholarships
- Make sure you apply before the high school application deadline--which is different from the regular deadline. (See Schedule)
- Select the High School Scholarship checkbox when you submit your online application.
- Receive an email from us regarding your scholarship decision and passwords to Campus Portal, the Learning Management System (LMS), and Maranatha's webmail within two weeks after the high school application deadline.
- Accept the scholarship simply by logging in to Campus Portal (http://portal.mbbc.edu) and paying the amount still due. Note: If you do not see a charge on your account when you log in, that's okay; just make the payment, and you will be fine.
- If you have not paid for the course within two weeks prior to the first day of class, your scholarship will be awarded to someone else, and the course will cost you full price.
- If you have not paid for the course within one week prior to the first day of class, your registration for the class will be dropped. (See refunds and policies)
