**Although the number of courses for the new Bible Core is different, the core objectives and required credits remain the same.** 

 

Specific Student Advising Needs

1.       What if I am done with one of the Bible survey classes but not both?

  1. You could take the other Bible survey class online during the next year for 2 credits.
  2. You could take the needed survey class as a 3-credit course in the fall of 2013.
  3. You will then also need to take Principles of Bible Study. See #2 for directions.

 

2.       What if I am done with both Bible survey classes but have not taken Principles of Bible Study?

  1. That means you have 4 of the 6 credits that will now be required in OT and NT Survey.
  2. Content from Principles of Bible Study will be integrated into the new survey courses.
  3. Therefore you still need to take Principles of Bible Study for 2 credits.
  4. You may take Principles of Bible Study online during the summer for 2 credits.
  5. We will offer Principles of Bible Study next year each semester. You may take it then.

 

3. What if I have taken one or two of the Christian Life courses, but not all three?

  1. Content from the three Christian Life courses will be integrated into the new course.
  2. Therefore if you have already taken one or two of the CL courses, you need the other(s).
  3. CL 2 and CL 3 will be offered on campus May 6-10.
  4. CL 2 and CL 3 will be offered online during the summer.
  5. CL 2 and CL 3 will be offered next year both fall and spring semesters.
  6. During this transition, the prerequisite of junior status for CL 3 will be waived.

 

4. What if I have taken one 2-credit Bible elective already?

  1. If you wish you may take two 3-credit electives and end up with 26 credits in the core.
  2. We will offer some 2-credit electives next year both fall and spring semesters.
  3. We will offer some 2-credit electives online during the summer semester.
  4. We will offer some 2-credit electives online next year both fall and spring semesters.

 

5. What if I have taken two 2-credit Bible electives already?

  1. If you wish you may take one 3-credit elective and end up with 25 credits in the core.
  2. We will offer some 2-credit electives next year both fall and spring semesters.
  3. We will offer some 2-credit electives online during the summer semester.
  4. We will offer some 2-credit electives online next year both fall and spring semesters.

 

6. What if I have not taken any Bible electives yet?

  1. You are in perfect position. Take only the new 3-credit Bible elective options.
  2. Do not take any 2-credit Bible electives for any reason.

 

7. What if I have taken a Bible application elective already?

  1. Bible application electives that you have already taken will still count toward the core.
  2. If the Bible application elective that you took is 2 credits, see either #4 or #5 above.
  3. If the Bible application elective that you took is 3 credits, take one new 3-credit elective.
