Majors, Minors, and Concentrations: What Goes on My Diploma and Transcript?

All Maranatha diplomas state the degree type. Degrees earned through Maranatha Online read “Bachelor of Science” or “Associate of Applied Science.” However, the transcript lists the degree and may also contain majors, minors, or concentrations.

All BS and AAS students select one or two concentrations. These can come from the shortest path to completion based on transfer work or be any customized field of study available through coursework at Maranatha. Generally speaking, these concentrations are not listed on the transcripts unless they fulfill an official major, minor, or concentration as a specific course of study listed in the Catalog. Any course applying to a major, minor, or concentration must have a grade of “C-” or above.

Here is a list of official minors and concentrations that are currently or soon available online. (Note: In addition to the completion of an official concentration, you may be required to take additional courses in that area for the completion of your degree.)

Please contact the Office of Online and Distance Learning if you have questions or are interested in declaring an official minor or concentration.
