With the exception of two years, Bruce Jackson has been involved in Christian education since he graduated from college in 1966. He had the opportunity to be involved as administrator and teacher in three different Christian schools. “Probably my most memorable period of time in the Christian school was the years spent in Longmont, Colorado,” he says. “I had the privilege of starting the Faith Baptist School in the fall of 1971 with 28 students in grades K through 6.” The school grew and grades were added until they hit a peak of about 350 students in K-12. “It was a time of maturation for me, having the opportunity to take something from scratch and develop a program that could be considered of high quality,” he recalls. “Our first graduating class of eleven students had two National Merit semi-finalists. We also saw about 75 percent of our graduates going on to good Christian colleges.”

Dr. Jackson and his wife came to Maranatha in the fall of 1987. He has been thrilled to be able to share with college students many of the lessons he learned working in Christian schools.

Dr. Jackson retired from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in the spring of 2009 and is currently residing with his wife in Colorado. However, he continues to impact students through teaching a number of psychology courses for Maranatha Online.
