Dr. Corey Pfaffe, Business Department Chair since 1989, emphasizes helping students develop "professional competency and Christian character." He has a PhD in Management Science and more than 25 years of professional experience as a Certified Public Accountant. That expertise in accounting, taxes, financial management, and stewardship is applied to churches and Christian ministries as well as in the classroom. Dr. Pfaffe said positive feedback from graduates serving God long after they leave Maranatha represents "the fruit of the investment the business faculty receive for our ministry." |

In today’s business world, integrity is as valued as the skills you bring to the job. Ethical standards influence not only how a person manages relationships with colleagues and clients but how he or she uses work time, markets products, and treats company resources.
Maranatha’s Department of Business offers a choice of four majors that will give you specialized knowledge in your field as well as prepare you for a lifetime of service with biblical integrity.
Alumni Focus
Darren Jaques (1999, Business Management) is a Lieutenant with the Windsor-Severance Fire Protection District in Windsor, Colorado. Jaques, who has been with the department eight years, was part of the team that served its community tirelessly in the aftermath of the May 22, 2008, tornado that destroyed 80 homes and damaged 770. He and wife Jami (Crandell), also a 1999 graduate, have three children. "I am forever thankful for my years at Maranatha and would not trade them for anything," Jaques said.
