About Mr. Komis

Having been involved in pastoral work for more than 20 years, Dennis Komis is humbled and thrilled to now have the privilege of working with and training God’s future leaders at Maranatha. "I love the challenge of instilling in my students not merely knowledge of the Truth but a love for God’s Word and a passion for God Himself," he says. In addition to classroom teaching, the Lord has allowed Mr. Komis opportunities to provide biblical counseling, to fill pulpits in area churches, and to serve as interim pastor three times. "I love to show from the Scriptures how every Christian can grow and change into Christlikeness," he says. "What a joy to see God’s all-sufficient Word change lives and equip Christians for competent, compassionate ministry!"

Blessed with a "beautiful, godly wife, and four faithful children (two married, two left in the nest)", Mr. Komis finds his greatest times to be those with his family. "Going for hikes, playing ball games or table games, reading, shopping and dining out, swimming and boating, cheering on the Packers, working around the house or yard are some of the most special times we share together," he says. "Each of my children play two instruments, so we never lack for good, godly music in our home." He and his wife recently became grandparents and enjoy spoiling little Carissa, though she lives five states away.

Mr. Komis's Ministry

Although he and his family are members of Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown, Mr. Komis has served as interim pastor at three different churches in the state. He also teaches Sunday school occasionally, helps with newfocus, an additiona ministry, and offers counseling services.

A Little Lovesick

Mr. Komis met his wife in a boys' dorm! (He was part of the flu epidemic, and she was a campus nurse.)
