About Weeks

Marilynne Miller Weeks (1928 – 1982)

Marilynne Miller Weeks was born June 8, 1928, in Chadron, Nebraska. She received her college training at Chadron State College. During her college years she met her husband, Richard Weeks, who was engaged in traveling evangelism in the West. Following their marriage, they rendered faithful service in the pastorate of the Donald Smith Memorial Baptist Church, Oak Lawn, Illinois, for over 15 years. The joy of their life, their daughter Ruth, was born in 1955.

At the invitation of Dr. Monroe Parker, President of Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Owatonna, Minnnesota, Richard and Marilynne, joined the faculty of Pillsbury in the fall of 1965. When Maranatha Baptist Bible College was founded in the fall of 1968, Dr. and Mrs. Weeks were among the founding faculty. Dr. Weeks served as Academic Dean and professor of Bible and Baptist History and Polity. Mrs. Weeks served as an instructor in English and Secretarial Science.

The Lord blessed Mrs. Weeks with unusual strength for over ten years as she gave of herself faithfully in the ministry of teaching. She was dearly loved by her students, and will long be remembered for her dedication and patience in the classroom.

She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, Watertown, Wisconsin, where her consistent testimony stands as a tribute to her faithfulness to the Lord. After a courageous batlle with cancer, Mrs. Weeks was promoted to Heaven on January 14, 1982.
