The Crusaders were held to 1 hit over 7 innings by 3 Viking pitchers. The Vikings had 17 runs on 14 hits. Ezekiel Leeds (Fond du Lac, Wis.) took the loss for the Crusaders.

Crusaders Begin Spring Trip on Saturday
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Maranatha Crusaders baseball team is finishing up preparations for their spring trip and first games of the 2009 season. Maranatha Hires New Head Baseball Coach
Maranatha Baptist Bible College is pleased to announce that Gary Garrison has accepted the position of head baseball coach.
Gary Garrison is no stranger to the Crusader baseball program. Garrison worked as an assistant with the baseball program at Maranatha for the last four years as a hitting coach. He also worked with the catchers during those four years.
Coach Garrison has served as one of the cross country head coaches for the past three years. Coach Garrison has resigned his position with the cross country team in order to focus on his duties as the new head baseball coach.
Prior to coming to Maranatha in 2004, Coach Garrison coached baseball at the high school level for 21 years and at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College for 2 years.
Coach Garrison earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education at Olivet Nazarene University and a master’s degree in physical education at the University of West Florida. Garrison also serves as a professor in the Physical Education Department at Maranatha Baptist Bible College.
