How can you reach a culture that is losing its moral footing? One way is to get equipped! Maranatha’s Biblical Studies degree provides the theological and practical foundation you need to teach, preach, and model biblical, life-transforming truth.

Perhaps God is calling you to shepherd a church, teach Bible in a college or seminary, lead Bible studies in the work place, or plant churches in foreign lands. In the Biblical Studies program, you will gain a solid grounding for local-church ministry no matter what your profession. Students in this undergraduate major are well prepared to study and apply God’s Word effectively as well as continue their education at Maranatha Baptist Seminary or another seminary.

After marrying Rebecca (Mariott, '99) and earning his MDiv from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary in 2003, Bryan Brock ('99, Biblical Studies) planted Life Point Baptist Church in Apple Valley, California, in 2005. "Maranatha gave me great preparation for seminary and a solid and diverse foundation for my subsequent ministry," says Pastor Brock, shown with Rebecca and children, Brad, Kate, and Grant. 

Waad Haddad, originally from Baghdad, graduated with a Biblical Studies degree in 2007. His senior year, Waad was privileged to travel to Egypt for three weeks, where he translated English into Arabic for 10 hours a day for Bible module classes under B.E.N. (Baptists Equipping Nationals). He plans to minister in the middle East after completing seminary.
