Special Meetings

Required special meeting functions may include:

  • Evangelistic services and Revival meetings at the beginning of each semester.
  • Missions Conference.
  • Conference on Baptist Fundamentalism.

Fall and Spring Semester Revival Meetings

  • Classes will be on Schedule “B” Tuesday through Thursday. (Chapel begins at 9:10 a.m. and ends at 10:25 a.m.).
  • You may not cut scheduled services – Chapel and Evening service.
  • Evening sessions will be held in the gym.
    • Fall semester on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
    • Spring semester on Monday and Tuesday
  • Level of dress for the evening meetings is Church Dress (Men ~ Women).
  • Use of a Bible (paper copy or electronic version) is expected.
  • Record your attendance in the gym lobby.
    • Students with a regular work conflict may sign the Excuse Sheets outside of the Student Life Office.
    • Students desiring to take part in a ministry opportunity should see the Dean of Students to be excused from the meetings [SL 1/10].

Missions Conference Schedule

  • Classes will be on Schedule “B” Monday through Thursday. (Chapel begins at 9:10 a.m. and ends at 10:25 a.m.).
  • Evening sessions will be held in the gym Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m.
  • Use of a Bible (paper copy or electronic version) is expected.
  • Level of dress for the evening meetings is Church Dress (Men ~ Women).
  • Record you attendance in the gym lobby.
    • Students with a regular work conflict or special meetings at their local church may sign the Excuse Sheets outside of the Student Life Office.

Conference on Baptist Fundamentalism Schedule

You must attend attend both evening and general sessions (Monday and Tuesday), the Tuesday morning general session, and at least one Tuesday workshop. You may not take be absent on Monday or Tuesday.
  • Student living more than 30 miles away may be excused from the evening sessions but not the Tuesday requirements.
  • Use of a Bible (paper or electronic) is expected. You’re also encouraged to print notes from the sessions.
  • To be excused for work, distance, or ministry opportunity, you must sign-out outside the Student Life Office before the event.
    • You may miss a meeting (except the special meetings at the beginning of each semester) to participate in a significant ministry opportunity. Approval must be secured in advance from the Student Life Office.
    • You may not miss special meetings on campus to attend special meetings or conferences somewhere else.
  • Level of dress for
    • Morning session and workshops is Class Dress (Women ~ Men). Students not attending the afternoon workshop may dress in casual dress as usual.
    • Evening sessions is Church Dress (Women ~ Men).

Off Campus/Married

  • Off-campus and married students that are enrolled in 1 to 5 credit hours are not required, but are encouraged to attend as many meetings as possible.
  • If both you and your spouse are Maranatha students, one of you may be excused from the special meetings to care for your children [SL 1/09].
  • Students who live with their parents and commute more than 30 miles in one direction may be excused from required special meetings.
    • The exception does not apply to single students who move off campus or to the Tuesday day sessions for Conference on Baptist Fundamentalism unless you do not normally have Tuesday classes.
